November, December, and January we fundraised for the Gustafsons! In case you are new to the blog, or do not remember, the Gustafsons live in Oregon and have a biological son, Rowdy, who is two (two) who was born with Down Syndrome. Erika and Lance felt called to adopt after they realized how children like their own son, are treated in other countries of the world. They found "Mary" (they have named her Rush) on Reece's Rainbow and fell in love! She is just a month older than Rowdy, making a perfect set of "twins"!Amanda found them through Reece's Rainbow, right after they committed to Rush and was instantly connected! She sent the rest of us a link to their blog and within a couple of days (thanks to some slow wifi, it would have been faster otherwise!) we had all decided they should be our next family.
In November, Vahnya (Madison and Amanda's little brother), celebrated his first birthday home! Of course, when a little boy turns 4 and has never had a real birthday celebration, you have to go all out! Lance, Erika, and Rowdy drove all the way up to Portland from Salem to come celebrate and meet us! It was so amazing! In the past, we have fundraised for families in different states, so actually being able to have a conversation face to face with the family, hug them, spend a few hours with them, was a unique and priceless experience for the three of us. We missed Genesis!!

As we enter February we will be switching gears and fundraising for another little one's homecoming! Again, this does not mean we stop supporting the Gustafsons! Once you are in the Guardian Angels family, you don't get to leave!! We love them all so much and are praying hard as they travel to meet Rush in ONE week! This is trip 1 of 3, and then Rush will come home! Please continue to pray with us and support Erika and Lance as they continue on this amazing and sometimes a bit insane journey of adoption!
